Jim Henson (September 24, 1936 – May 16, 1990)
Twenty one years ago today, Jim Henson passed on to the great Rainbow Connection. Hopefully since then, he’s experienced new wonders and adventures that we can only dream about!
I think when people die young, we’re always left wondering what could have or should have been. But, in my travels doing this blog I try to focus on what was, and Jim Henson was really special. In his 53 years, he really changed the way we think of TV and influenced a whole new generation of children; this journalist included.
As the world becomes faster and self absorbed… I’d like to think that 100 years from now… a frog, originally made from his mother’s old coat, will still be strumming that banjo and making the world a better place.
So, Jim wherever you are, this one is for the “Lovers, the Dreamers, and You!”
