Renowned animator and director who is credited with the creation of Goofy. However, his part in the 1941 Disney animators strike made his relationship with Walt Disney contemptuous, and he eventually moved on from the company . The latter part of his career was spent owning animation companies and teaching a whole new generation of artists the magic of animation.
In 1991, Roy Disney (Walt’s nephew) ended the company’s decades long feud with Babbitt resulting in his posthumous induction as a “Disney Legend” in 2007.
